HOW DO WE GIVE TRUE FORGIVENESS?

We are taught for the most part that forgiveness is a choice, we just need to say the words. I am not saying I totally disagree but let me ask you this...how did you do on the HAVE I FORGIVEN TEST? (Last weeks blog) So let's get into the deeper understanding of how to truly forgive. There are two levels of forgiveness:Forgiveness in Mind: Is a choice by which we release the other person by our words from any obligation for need to reimburse, make up for, be punished, and the such, towards us in reference to a…

THE HAVE I FORGIVEN TEST

It is easy to just say "I forgive you"...but have we really forgiven? How do we purge the heart of all offence? For some the understanding seems to be that all God needs is to hear you say the words and it is finished. Well it is only the beginning. We are taught for the most part that forgiveness is a choice. I would suggest it simply does not work to just say.... “I forgive you”....and then experience in our hearts what forgiveness looks like. I am not saying God will ignore those words, He is most certainly satisfied to…

THE POWER OF SUFFERING

Well this sounds like a cheery topic! Yet if we truly understand what scripture is saying about suffering...and if we could embrace it as it is meant to be interpreted...it is actually quite exciting and a true adventure to be taken with Christ. Well perhaps on occasion where it biblically, applies that may be possible. Scripture refers to suffering in a positive sense almost as much as loving. Likely that is because…

Several years ago I was on a bus traveling through the mountains in BC on route to home. The majestic appearance of the mountains stirred up my spirit...I was moved into conversation with God. At a point of my speaking to Him I asked...Lord what seems to be wrong in the body of the church...why do we not walk in the authority and power you make available to us. The answer came to me crystal clear. I heard Him in my spirit say...the body of Christ lacks compassion. I think if we were all to be honest, we would…

WHEN LIES ARE SPOKEN ABOUT YOU

WHEN LIES ARE SPOKEN ABOUT YOU Likely everyone of us has found themselves in this position. It can be very devastating....especially when it is by those whom you have trusted....those who were close to you. Our mind can be flooded with ill thoughts that cry out for justice, for the liars to be exposed....even punished. And yes perhaps a little revenge or some form of "them getting theirs" might make us feel a little better. The consequences of spoken lies can bring us into difficult seasons of our lives where it seems everything around us is being torn away and…
